Dutch Neck Area Safety Improvements along Village Road West to Begin on or about Tuesday 4/05 Weather Permitting

West Windsor announces that repairs to curb and sidewalk along Village Road West between Penn Lyle Road and Edinburg Road, will occur starting this Tuesday, April 5th, weather permitting.   Diamond Construction will be upgrading existing crosswalks and curb ramps to meet current ADA barrier free requirements, along with adding several new sidewalk segments and new curb ramp locations.  Crosswalks at the intersection of Huntington Drive with Edinburg Road will also be improved.

The project will also involve improvements to the intersection of Baxter Place with Village Road West to improve the clear sight distance to the west by regrading of the existing embankment along Village Road West, with the removal of several public street trees.
There may be intermittent traffic delays on the roads, intersections, and drive approaches as construction equipment moves around and the work is being performed.  The Contractor will attempt to minimize delays to the traveling public and maintain temporary access to homes throughout the project.  During each day of this project there will occur temporary lane closures posted at the work site, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM.    Please honor all posted temporary traffic control measures for your own safety and the safety of others.

Additionally, landscaping, lights, sprinklers, fences, “invisible” fences, or other personal property located within the public road right-of-way could be impacted during construction. When practical, it is requested that these items be removed by the property owner prior to the start of construction.

Residents may walk on the concrete 24 hours after it has been poured; however, no vehicles should drive over new concrete for at least five (5) days. The Contractor will provide at least 24 hours advance written notice to any property affected with replacements in their driveway area. The notice will be placed in the door of the affected property, alerting the property owner to have all necessary vehicles moved to a street where parking is allowed.

If you have questions concerning this project, please contact the West Windsor Township Engineering Division at (609) 799-9396.
