Replacement of graduate student housing on 54 acres between Canal Point Blvd. and the Delaware and Raritan Canal along Emmons Drive, Loetscher Place and Farber Road. 25 existing 1950’s era garden apartment buildings, maintenance facility, student center and indoor pool building will be replaced with three 3 story garden apartment buildings (68 units each, 45’ height), 5,400 sf maintenance building (16.3’ height), 52,000 sf Student Recreation Center (44’ height), playing field, and 377 stall parking facilities. The new facilities will complement the architecture of the existing Witherspoon Apartments (completed 1998) utilizing similar materials and colors to visually integrate the entire campus. Facilities are designed to create a unified campus that encourages community and connection among students and preserves the wooded greenbelt along canal and existing tree-lined streets.
