The Department of Public Works (DPW) is headed by the Director of Public Works and includes the Division of Facilities & Open Space, the Division of Sewer Maintenance and the Division of Streets & Roads.
Department of Public Works
The Division of Facilities & Open Space is responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all Township-owned parks, playgrounds, designated playing fields, municipal properties and designated open spaces.
The Division of Sewer Maintenance is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Township-owned sewer system which includes six (6) pumping stations.
The Division of Streets & Roads is responsible for general road and pothole repairs, street sweeping, roadside mowing, yard waste and white goods collection and maintenance of DPW vehicles and equipment.
All three (3) DPW Divisions assist in special projects, community events and snow removal operations.
Refuse & Recycling
The Township has two (2) separate contracts for refuse and recycling collection services. Refuse collection services are provided by Waste Management under a publicly bid contract between the Township of West Windsor and Waste Management.
