The West Windsor Senior Center was started in 1979 and moved to its present facility in 1989. The Center was renovated and enlarged in 2009. The Center now has a lounge with a Wii area, two large multi-purpose rooms, a library, computer room, game room equipped with a pool table, health suite and sitting area, a large patio, kitchen, and offices. The Lounge, appointed with comfortable furniture and reading materials, provides a place for reading, relaxing, and conversation with old and new friends.
The Senior Center is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. The activities and services of the Senior Center are available to West Windsor residents 55 years of age and older. Parents of adult residents are also welcome to participate in the Center’s activities.
In the event of inclement weather, the Senior Center follows the lead of the local school district (West Windsor-Plainsboro) in determining closings. If there is a delayed opening of the schools, call the Senior Center, 799-9068, for the schedule of activities. The offices will remain open unless a state of emergency has been declared. Announcements are made on Comcast channel 27 & Verizon channel 42 as well as the Township website: www.westwindsornj.org.
The Senior Center is the focal point in the community for information, activities and services for the older adult and those who participate in their care. A calendar of activities is published bi-monthly and mailed to all those registered with the Senior Center. The Senior Center provides activities in the areas of health/wellness, education, recreation, interest groups, and hobbies. Day trips are scheduled throughout the year. Call (609) 799-9068 to register.
