UTILITY PERSON I, DEPT OF PUBLIC WORKS -  WEST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP

This candidate will perform various types of manual and unskilled labor duties, which may occasionally require them to operate a vehicle. The responsibilities of the individual includes: pump station duties, upkeep of the sewer system (cleaning lines, cutting grass, hauling screens from wet well, watering, weeding and picking up litter), assisting in operation of equipment, delivering materials, and loading/unloading vehicles with or without assistance. The individual should also be able to inspect, clean, and repair the storm sewer underground systems (inlets and pipes) throughout the Township as needed; in addition, should be able to perform routine emergency maintenance and repairs of all sewer associated equipment and other related duties as assigned.  Qualifications:  HS Diploma or equivalent; possession of Valid NJ driver’s license in good standing; prefer: CDL in good standing; good physical health.  Send letter/resume/salary history: West Windsor Twp, P.O. LEAD MECHANIC, DEPT OF PUBLIC WORKS - WEST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP

This position requires the ability to perform maintenance and repairs on various types of motor vehicles and equipment, oversee Mechanic’s assistant, prepare factual reports, track service records, and other related work as required.

The Lead Mechanic supports the Department of Public Works. 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
The candidate will need the ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics and part manuals; as well as other written instructions related to the maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and equipment.  This also includes the ability to complete computerized maintenance reports and records involving time spent, materials and parts used, and tasks completed;  organize and maintain complete service records for vehicles and equipment; inspect inoperative motor vehicles and equipment, diagnose the cause of malfunction and make repairs to return the motor vehicles or equipment to operation; use tools and test equipment properly to inspect, adjust, repair, replace, rebuild, overhaul and/or correct assemblies, sub assemblies and other parts on motor vehicles and equipment; locate sources and initiate requisition of needed parts and materials.  The Lead Mechanic is responsible to analyze maintenance and repair problems associated with motor vehicles and equipment; organize and develop effective work methods to complete tasks generally within the standard time allowed for specific tasks in accordance with Department standards.  This position requires the ability to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position; to do maintenance and repairs in a garage and/or the field and have completed tasks conform to the specifications contained in the applicable maintenance manuals, diagrams, and/or instructions; inspect new motor vehicles and equipment to determine if they conform to the applicable plans, specifications and maintenance manuals; the ability to service, adjust, overhaul, repair, rebuild, and/or install assemblies, sub-assemblies, accessories, and parts related to motor vehicles and equipment.  Qualifications:  HS Diploma or equivalent; three (3) years experience as Mechanic performing maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and equipment or certification by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE); possession of a valid New Jersey Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in good standing; and the minimum tools required for vehicle and equipment maintenance and preferred ASE Certified; good physical health.  Send letter/resume/salary history: West Windsor Twp, P.O.
