Utility Person 1 – Sewers
West Windsor Township is seeking a Full Time Utility Person 1 to work in the Sewer Department. Under direction of the Director of Public Works or designee, this position performs manual and unskilled labor work at Pump Stations and performs upkeep of sewer system including cleaning lines, cutting grass, hauling screens from wet well, cutting grass, watering, weeding and picking up litter; assisting in the operation of the sewer jet; drives truck, hauls and delivers materials, loads and unloads trucks with or without assistance. Under direction, this position operates, adjusts and regulates pump station pumps, valves and other equipment, and takes periodic readings. Inspects, cleans, and makes repairs to storm sewer underground system (inlets and pipes) throughout Township as needed. Performs routine emergency maintenance and repairs of all sewer associated equipment.
Qualifications or Requirements: Possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in good standing or willingness to obtain within one year
Salary Range: $39,088-$56,600 (2022)
Municipal Court Attendant- Part Time
The Township is seeking to hire a qualified individual to work under general direction of the Municipal Court Judge with duties that include providing first layer of protection for entire Court Staff and Judge by screening all individuals entering the court; inspecting and performing various safety and security checks of the municipal court building, including but not limited to ensuring various entrances and exits are properly secured and unoccupied; screening all individuals entering the Court facility; inspecting the metal detector and handheld wand to ensure it is functioning properly and performing necessary calibration; proving information on Court facility policies.
Qualifications: Excellent customer service skills and communication skills required. PTC certified (current or retired). Must have a minimum of ten years of law enforcement experience (retired) or must have eight years of experience with one employer and must possess a four-year degree from an accredited educational institution.
Salary: $25.12 - $30.00/hour
Finance Clerk 1- Finance Division-Full Time
West Windsor Township is seeking a Finance Clerk 1 who is responsible for supporting the Finance Division and Office of the Tax Collector. The work is to be performed under the general supervision of the Chief Financial Officer and the Tax Collector and/or designee. Provides secretarial, clerical, bookkeeping and accounting support to the Finance Division. Greets the public at Finance window, takes payment and records payments, receive and sort incoming mail, minor and complex computer work and correspondence, collect and record tax sewer rent revenues, update and maintain various Finance spreadsheets, prepare deposits, post payments issue receipts.
Qualifications or Requirements: High School diploma or GED equivalency degree, proficient knowledge of computers, cash handling experience, excellent customer service communication skills, office/accounting experience preferred. Flexibility to undertake a variety of assignments.
Salary Range: $39,088.00-$56,600.00
Fire Protection Inspector Part Time- up to 29 hours per week
The Township is seeking to fill a Part Time Fire Protection Inspector ( up to 29 hours per week) position. Under the direction of the Fire Protection Subcode, the Part-Time Fire Protection Inspector reviews plans and performs fire protection inspections involved in enforcement of the State Uniform Construction Code (UCC), the Fire Protection Subcode and relevant fire protection laws and regulations.
Qualifications: Valid Fire Protection Inspector license of the appropriate level, Industrial and Commercial (ICS), issued by the NJ DCA. High-rise and Hazardous (HHS) preferred
Salary Range: $40.36-$53.37
Seasonal Laborers
The Township is seeking individuals interested in seasonal employment in Department of Public Works to perform various types of manual labor relating to the upkeep & maintenance of Township property. Responsibilities include: mowing, pruning, roadside clean-up, leaf and brush collection, perform maintenance tasks of road sides, parks, ball fields, grounds owned by Township including pruning, cutting, weed whacking, trash pick-up, etc. May also wash, wax, clean Township vehicles and equipment (including interiors), installs, maintains, removes snow fence, may performs janitorial duties at Township sites and other related duties as required.
Schedule: M-F 7:00am-3:00pm
Salary: $15.00 per hour.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; good physical health.
